The Role
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a Stock Controller to join our stock team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and experience managing inventory in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves maintaining accurate stock levels across multiple warehouses and ensuring smooth communication between suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments. You will work closely with a number of departments across the business, contributing to product improvements, stock processes, and new product development.
Main duties include:
- Accurately receive and book all incoming goods into the system
- Liaise with transport teams regarding stock queries and discrepancies
- Act as the first point of contact for stock-related queries from the sales team
- Raise purchase orders and negotiate pricing with suppliers
- Organise and manage stock across multiple warehouse locations
- Oversee the intake of domestic and overseas deliveries
- Work directly with suppliers to resolve shortages, damages, and delivery issues
- Manage and report stock quantities, including management of three annual stock counts conducted over weekends
The Successful Candidate
- Previous stock control experience is highly desirable
- Purchasing experience preferred but not essential
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organised and proactive approach to work
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Computer literate, with experience of ERP systems preferred (particularly SAP)
