We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on and highly detail-focused Vape Product Development & Quality Coorindator to join our growing team.
The role will support the development of new vaping products and act as an important link between our Product Development team and our manufacturing and supply partners across China.
You will be involved in a variety of projects including vape devices, pods, e-liquids and flavour development, helping to coordinate samples, product testing, supplier communication, quality checks and new product development.
You do not need to be an expert in every area of vaping or product development from day one. We are looking for someone who is curious, organised, communicates well and is willing to learn. Previous experience within vaping, consumer electronics, FMCG, manufacturing, flavours or product development would be beneficial, but training and support will be provided.
The position provides an opportunity to work closely with manufacturers and suppliers in one of the world's leading product development and manufacturing hubs and gain hands-on experience bringing new products from initial ideas through to production.
Duties
- Support the Product Director and R&D team in developing new vape devices, pods, e-liquids and flavours — from concept and sampling through to production.
- Gather samples, product ideas and flavour options from suppliers and flavour houses, coordinating feedback between them and the UK R&D team.
- Maintain clear records of samples, revisions and project progress, and keep the Product Director updated throughout.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with manufacturers, flavour houses and other suppliers, visiting factories when required.
- Communicate specifications, timelines and development actions clearly, following up to keep suppliers and projects on track.
- Handle confidential company information appropriately in all supplier communications.
- Carry out quality and performance checks on samples and production units, comparing them against approved specs.
- Investigate and clearly report quality concerns, working with manufacturers on corrective actions.
- Support Compliance and TPD teams by collecting required product, ingredient and certification documentation from suppliers.
- Stay informed on new device technologies, manufacturing techniques, flavour trends and competitor products in the Chinese market.
- Track active projects and outstanding actions, flagging delays or issues early and providing regular updates to the Product Director.
Qualifications
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence communicating with suppliers and manufacturers.
- The ability to manage several projects and follow-up actions simultaneously.
- Good attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- The ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the wider team.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- An interest in products, technology, manufacturing or product development.
- A willingness to learn about vape products, e-liquids, flavours and manufacturing processes.
- The ability to travel to factories and suppliers within China when required.
- Willing to relocate to Shenzhen, China
Experience within vape or FMCG is desirable but not essential. Candidates who have strong product development, manufacturing or supplier coordination experience from another industry are encouraged to apply.
