Logistics Coordinator | Cleveland Cable Company

Cleveland Cable Company is the UK's largest cable distributor, and we are looking for a dedicated Logistics Coordinator to join our Belvedere branch. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the complex movement of cable drums and electrical products, ensuring our fleet operates at peak efficiency while maintaining our reputation for industry-leading service.
Core Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling
- Organize vehicle routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely distribution of cable orders.
- Allocate drivers and appropriate vehicles (including specialized crane/hiab trucks) for specific jobs.
- Adjust transport plans in real-time to mitigate delays caused by traffic, breakdowns, or weather.
Communication
- Act as the main point of contact between our driving team, customers, and warehouse staff.
- Provide accurate updates on delivery windows and proactively communicate potential delays.
- Handle customer queries and resolve complaints with a professional, solution-oriented approach.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain comprehensive transport records, including delivery notes, logs, and invoices.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate, organized, and filed daily.
- Utilize Transport Management Systems (TMS) and spreadsheets to monitor operational data.
Driver and Fleet Coordination
- Monitor driver hours and ensure total compliance with working time regulations.
- Track vehicle locations and performance through telematics systems.
- Report any maintenance issues promptly and schedule regular vehicle servicing to minimize downtime.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all branch operations adhere to transport laws and FORS/industry regulations.
- Keep precise records for audits, including tachograph analysis and driver license checks.
- Promote and maintain a culture of high health and safety standards on-site and on the road.
Skills Required
- Organization: Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for coordinating between teams.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to think on your feet and remain calm under pressure.
- IT Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using logistics or fleet software.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in administrative tasks and compliance record-keeping.
