Are you a passionate and nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? A welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a dedicated Level 3 qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant (or a candidate with an equivalent degree) to join their EYFS team from September 2026.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, supporting children aged 3–5 years within a welcoming and inclusive Early Years setting.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children's learning, development and wellbeing. You will be expected to take on the role of a Key Person, building positive relationships with a small group of children and their families, monitoring their progress, supporting their individual needs, and helping to ensure they feel safe, happy and confident within the setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children's learning through engaging play-based activities.
- Act as a Key Person, taking responsibility for a designated group of children, observing their development, maintaining learning journeys, and communicating effectively with parents and carers.
- Deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups to promote progress across all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
- Assist with planning and preparing stimulating learning environments and activities.
- Support children's personal, social and emotional development while encouraging independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider Early Years team to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
- Follow school safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A Level 3 Early Years qualification (or an equivalent degree recognised for Early Years practice).
- Previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
- A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Experience supporting children with a range of learning needs is desirable.
- A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a caring approach.
