Alcove Decorating is a growing painting and decorating company working across Brighton, Hove and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join us as the business continues to grow. We take pride in delivering a high standard of finish, with particular attention given to preparation, cleanliness and the finer details of each project.
We are looking for someone who already has good experience within the trade, takes genuine pride in their work and can be trusted to maintain the standard our customers expect.
The right person should be comfortable working both independently and alongside others, with the potential to take responsibility for projects as the company grows.
Responsibilities
- Thorough preparation of walls, ceilings and woodwork, including filling, sanding, caulking and priming where required.
- Application of emulsion, eggshell, satin, gloss and other decorative finishes to a high standard.
- Preparation and finishing of existing and new woodwork.
- Identifying imperfections and preparation requirements before applying finishes.
- Producing clean cutting-in and consistent, high-quality finishes.
- Protecting customers' flooring, furniture and belongings before work begins.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional working environment throughout each project.
- Working independently when required while also working effectively as part of a team.
- Communicating professionally and respectfully with customers and other trades.
Requirements
- Previous professional experience as a Painter & Decorator.
- Strong preparation and finishing skills.
- High attention to detail and pride in the finished product.
- Ability to work independently without requiring constant supervision.
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of safe working practices, including the use of ladders, access equipment and decorating materials.
