We’re seeking a confident, consistent 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 1 with ASD and other personal needs.
The ideal candidate will be firm, calm, and able to build a trusting relationship as they will be supporting the pupil during sensory regulation.
Hourly rate: £14.50 per hour dependent on experience (plus holiday pay)
Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm , this may start as just morning initially whilst the pupil builds up to longer days.
Starting in September, trial day will be needed!
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and complex and personal needs.
- Deliver intervention strategies set by the school to ensure consistency.
- Maintain clear boundaries while supporting engagement and emotional regulation.
- Supervise the pupil during lunchtime from 12pm, playtimes, and other unstructured times.
- Monitor safety, behaviour, and participation throughout the school day.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

- Reliable, observant, and confident in following structured plans.
