WE’RE HIRING – TIMBER MACHINIST / YARD HAND
Looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our growing family-run business.
We are a specialist hardwood timber merchant supplying a wide range of quality timbers to trade and retail customers across the UK.
Role: Timber Machinist / Yard Hand Hours: Part-time initially (3-4 days starting with the opportunity to progress to full-time in November) Location: Metro Business ParkEmployment Type: Employed or Self-Employed (open to both)
The ideal candidate will have: Timber industry experience (preferred) Good knowledge of hardwood species (ideal but not essential) Experience operating woodworking machinery such as:– 4-side planer/moulder– Planer– Thicknesser– Saws Good attention to detail and pride in their work A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Main duties will include:
Assisting with timber machining
Selecting and preparing timber orders
Wrapping and packing customer orders
Loading/unloading stock
General workshop and yard duties
Helping maintain a clean, safe working environment
This role would suit someone practical, hands-on, and comfortable working in a busy workshop environment.
As a small family-run business, we value attitude, reliability, and willingness to get stuck in just as much as experience.
