Joining our team on a full time basis, you will be working 40 hours per week, across 5 days.

Cygnet Hospital Colchester:
Cygnet Hospital Colchester is a 59 bed service providing a range of intensive support and rehabilitation services for men with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or mental health needs.
Your day-to-day…

Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups

Work systemically with staff, as well as directly with service users
-
Consult with staff, families & other agencies about the psychological care of the client group

Offer psychological insight & knowledge to the multidisciplinary team
-
Support the clinical, nursing & direct care teams in making skilled evaluations & decisions about risk

Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research.
We are looking for someone who is…
-
An experienced Psychologist, ideally with an adult mental health client group
-
Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team
-
Knowledgeable of mental health legislation, risk assessment & risk management principles
-
Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical & DBT
-
Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
-
Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending & drug & alcohol problems
-
An excellent communicator.
