Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our culinary operations by assisting with meal and food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with recipes and safety standards
- Support catering services by preparing ingredients and basic dishes as directed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment to meet hygiene regulations
- Organise storage areas, ensuring ingredients and supplies are properly labelled and stored
- Follow food safety protocols at all times, including proper handling and disposal of food waste
- Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with inventory checks and stock replenishment to ensure kitchen efficiency
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with additional tasks as required
Experience
- Previous experience in a catering, restaurant, or kitchen environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a professional kitchen setting
- Experience in meal preparation, food service, or related roles will be considered a plus
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
