Chef / Cook Wanted Join Our Kitchen Team at The Sloop Inn, Bantham We are looking for a passionate, reliable and enthusiastic Chef / Cook to join our friendly and hardworking team at The Sloop Inn, a busy seaside pub in the heart of Bantham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in producing high-quality food, and thrives as part of a professional team. Permanent Position * Immediate start available * Competitive salary (dependent on experience) * Shifts will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays The Role Working closely with our Head Chef, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Responsibilities will include: * Assisting with the preparation and service of high-quality dishes * Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards * Supporting the Head Chef with the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen * Preparing ingredients and ensuring the kitchen is fully stocked for service * Working efficiently during busy service periods * Helping with stock rotation and minimising food waste * Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment * Covering the Head Chef during holidays and periods of sickness when required * Contributing ideas for daily specials and seasonal menu development where appropriate About You The successful candidate will: * Have previous experience working in a busy commercial kitchen * Be organised, hardworking and able to work well under pressure * Have a positive attitude and be a strong team player * Be passionate about producing consistently high-quality food * Hold a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices Interested?
