Part-Time Cook / Duty Manager

We're looking for a friendly, reliable and responsible person to join our small, family-run café in the heart of historic Lichfield.
This is more than just a cooking job. We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team, cares about doing things properly and takes pride in creating a welcoming experience for every customer. As Duty Manager, you'll help lead the team during your shift, ensuring the café runs smoothly and everyone works together to deliver excellent service.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing and serving food to a high standard.
- Helping to create a warm, friendly atmosphere for our customers.
- Opening and closing the café.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and well organised, including washing up and maintaining a tidy workspace throughout the day.
- Checking stock levels and helping with ordering.
- Following food hygiene and safety standards, including cleaning and food labelling.
- Leading and supporting the front-of-house team, providing guidance and encouragement to help them deliver excellent customer service
We're looking for someone who is:
- Dependable and trustworthy.
- Calm, organised and able to use their own initiative.
- Enjoys cooking and serving good food.
- Friendly and enjoys working with people.
- Happy taking responsibility and helping the café run smoothly.
- A positive role model who enjoys supporting, mentoring and encouraging others.
- Confident speaking English.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage, as there may occasionally be opportunities to help with shopping and collecting supplies when the owner is away.
Previous experience in a café, kitchen or food service role is helpful, but it's not essential. If you have the right attitude and are keen to learn, we'll provide training.
