Duties
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete construction and repair tasks.
- Perform welding tasks, ensuring structural integrity and safety standards are met.
- Conduct masonry work, including bricklaying and concrete finishing, as required on site.
- Carry out carpentry duties such as framing, fitting, and installing fixtures.
- Assist with roofing projects, including installation, repairs, and inspections.
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to support project requirements.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery or structural components.
- Drive commercial vehicles as needed for transporting materials or equipment to various sites.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience with welding techniques and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to construction or maintenance work.
- Competence in masonry work, carpentry, roofing, and general building practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
- Experience in commercial driving with valid licences preferred.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual tasks across diverse environments.
