Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and power tools, as well as the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that vehicles are safe and reliable for our customers. MOT license holder beneficial.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
- Assemble parts and equipment as required for repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle's condition and necessary repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in the workshop environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting of parts or equipment when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair various vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics related to vehicle systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as needed during repairs and maintenance tasks.
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
