The Head of Operational Estates will be responsible, o n behalf of the Assistant Director Estates, Facilities & PFI Services Management, for the operation and upkeep of the Trusts retained estate, including the building fabric, grounds and engineering building services and critical infrastructure, and for providing a consistent, high quality, cost effective, customer focused estate operations, and maintenance and repair service, across both the Royal Stoke and County sites, by the application of appropriate technical and managerial expertise. The post holder will take the lead on the provision of an effective programme of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across the estate, as well as Reactive repair works, proactive risk management, Estates asset management (including life-cycle planning), reduction in backlog maintenance, and the undertaking of condition and statutory compliance surveys.
Ensure that the Estates asset register is maintained and kept up to date and that there are management systems in place to provide effective and efficient management of the assets.
Contribute to the overall management of the Estates, Facilities & PFI Division through participation in business planning, management team meetings and specific projects life cycle.
Ensure that is are robust processes to capture risks and manage the Estates risk register and assets.

Responsible for the development and implementation of estates financial and operational performance
Responsible for the operation and maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, engineering services and grounds and gardens contained within the Trust’s estate.
Work closely with Estates operational managers to provide data and support for the completion of the annual ERIC (Estates Return Information Collection) returns, and NHS Premises Assurance Model (NHS PAM) and thereafter uses these (along with the Model Hospital data) for benchmarking purposes, as tools to identify areas for further improvement, and as a means of assessing estates performance.
