Yard & Store Assistant – Full Time & Part Time Positions Available
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our busy team at Stermat Hardware.
This is an active, varied role that combines yard duties, stock handling, deliveries and customer service. No two days are the same, and successful applicants will enjoy practical work and being part of a hardworking team.
Hours
Full-time and part-time positions available, working over 7 days on a weekend-on/weekend-off rota basis. Typical working hours are 8.50am to 5.30pm.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting customers.
- Receiving, checking and putting away deliveries.
- Preparing stock and orders.
- Making local deliveries when required.
- Operating forklift trucks and other yard equipment following training.
- Keeping the yard, warehouse and storage areas clean and organised.
- Assisting with stock movement throughout the site.
- Following company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting colleagues with general day-to-day operations.
About the Role
This position involves frequent manual handling and the movement of building materials, hardware products and other stock items. It is a physically active role and applicants should be comfortable lifting, carrying and moving products throughout the day.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- Minor driving convictions will be considered.
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, retail or delivery environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Good customer service skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
Full training will be provided.
