We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-owned business that has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality electrical services across commercial, industrial and maintenance projects. Their success is built on strong relationships, quality workmanship and a supportive team culture—and they're now looking for an HR Business Partner to help shape the next stage of their growth.
This is a varied, hands-on generalist HR role where no two days are the same. You'll partner with managers across the business, leading recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance and people development while helping to continuously improve HR processes.

What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, including:
- Managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding
- Advising managers on employee relations, absence management and disciplinary matters
- Leading performance review processes and supporting employee development
- Developing and maintaining HR policies and ensuring compliance with employment legislation
- Acting as the main HR contact with external HR advisors
- Producing HR reports and KPIs for senior leadership
- Supporting managers with training and best practice
- Maintaining HR systems and employee records
- Championing a positive, collaborative workplace culture and supporting employee wellbeing
About you
We're looking for someone who brings both HR expertise and a practical, approachable style.
You'll ideally have:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
- At least 3–5 years' experience in a generalist HR role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience managing recruitment from vacancy through to onboarding
- Confidence supporting managers with employee relations matters
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive approach with excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office
- The ability to work independently whilst building strong working relationships across the business
Experience within construction or building services would be advantageous but isn't essential.
