Fife Health & Social Care Partnership is seeking to recruit an innovative, creative and enthusiastic Social Worker to join the Social Work Contact Centre on a temporary one-year basis.
This is a varied and rewarding role involving complex assessments of need and risk, alongside Adult Support and Protection responsibilities. Given the focus on adult protection enquiries, applicants must have a minimum of 12 months' post-qualifying experience and either hold or be willing to undertake relevant Adult Support and Protection training, including Adult Protection Awareness and Working Together training. As a result, this post is not suitable for Newly Qualified Social Workers.
The Social Work Contact Centre is a fast-paced environment where practitioners are required to make timely, informed decisions while ensuring the best possible outcomes for people who use services. The diverse range of referrals received requires staff to maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policy, guidance and research. Ongoing learning is supported through regular team development sessions, and colleagues are encouraged to contribute ideas that enhance service delivery across Fife.

These tasks will be carried out in partnership with service users, carers, family members, social work colleagues and multi-agency partners and other professionals, as required.
You will have a minimum of 12 months’ post-qualifying experience within a statutory social work setting across Adults and Older People Services, Children and Families Social Work, or Justice Social Work, with transferable knowledge and skills relevant to this role. A sound understanding of Adult Support and Protection legislation, guidance and processes is essential.
The role requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise a demanding workload. You will be skilled in assessment and analysis, with the confidence to make clear, informed and proportionate decisions

The ability to travel throughout Fife is a requirement.
"Due to the requirement to access the Multi-Agency Public Protection System (MAPPS), successful applicants will be required to undergo Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of Level 2. Ongoing review of this vetting level will be required in line with agreed Home Office standards.
With the implementation of MAPPS imminent, applicants must agree to undertake the vetting process as access will be a necessary part of their role."
