We are seeking a professional and organised GP Receptionist/Administrator to join our medical practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing administrative duties efficiently. Prior office or administrative experience is preferred, and the position is fully paid.
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Managing appointment scheduling and cancellations using practice management software
- Answering phone calls promptly and directing enquiries appropriately
- Handling patient check-in and check-out processes accurately
- Maintaining patient records with confidentiality and attention to detail
- Managing correspondence, including emails and post
- Processing payments and issuing receipts as required
- Assisting with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organising documents
- Ensuring the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
Skills
- Proven office experience with excellent organisational skills
- Previous administrative experience within a healthcare setting is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations discreetly
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with a professional attitude
