Camden Road WFC is looking for a passionate and proactive Lead Football Coach to take charge of our Development Team.
Our Development Team was formed this spring and is still finding its feet, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help shape the team's identity and support players as they grow. We welcome adult women and non-binary people, and the squad is a mixed-ability group of enthusiastic players who are keen to improve while enjoying their football.
About the role
We're looking for a coach who can create a positive, inclusive and enjoyable environment while delivering high-quality coaching focused on technical development and game-based practices. You'll be someone who knows how to challenge players, encourage them to progress, and keep sessions engaging and fun.

Current schedule
- Training: Mondays, 6:30–7:30pm in Camden Town
- Matches: Sunday afternoons in an 8-a-side league across Camden and Haggerston
- The team also takes part in tournaments throughout the year, with ambitions to transition to 11-a-side football in the future.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging weekly training sessions.
- Support players' technical, tactical and personal development.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable team culture.
- Work with assistant coaches and cover coaches to ensure continuity across sessions and matches.
- Help with light team administration, including:
- > Creating match events on Spond.
- > Managing attendance.
- > Selecting matchday squads and line-ups.
- > Completing brief post-match reports.
All training equipment is provided on site.
About Camden Road WFC
Camden Road WFC was founded two years ago with the aim of making football accessible, welcoming and community-led. As a growing club, we now have three squads:
- Foundation Team - for beginners
- Development Team - for less-experienced players wanting to play competitively
- First Team - for experienced players wanting to play 11-a-side
We're ambitious, inclusive and always looking to improve, both on and off the pitch.
What we're looking for:
- A kind, encouraging coach who isn't afraid to challenge players to improve.
- Someone proactive who will enjoy building a developing team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Someone with good availability on Monday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
- Someone looking to commit to a team for at least 8+ months.
- Aged 18+
While applications are welcome from everyone, we particularly encourage applications from women and non-binary coaches, as they are currently underrepresented in coaching.
Pay
Although we're largely a volunteer-run club, we believe in paying our coaches wherever possible.
- Flexible hourly rate for coaches holding a UEFA C Licence.
- If you don't yet hold a UEFA C Licence, we're also happy to discuss subsidising your qualification for the right candidate.
How to apply
We really want to understand why you would suit this role, and how you would make it your own. Please feel free to send us a CV, cover letter, video or any other way you feel gets you across best.
The application process will involve a short video call before a trial training session on a Monday evening. We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible.
Please apply on Indeed or by emailing [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you!
