We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle makes and models, ensuring they meet all safety standards required for MOT testing. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine work, brake systems, suspension, exhausts, and electrical components.
- Carry out MOT testing in compliance with current legislation, ensuring all vehicles meet safety and environmental standards before passing or advising on necessary repairs.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and servicing tasks.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, ensuring thorough checks are completed for each service or MOT test.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and test results in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assist colleagues as needed in a fast-paced environment to deliver excellent customer service.
Skills
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on a variety of vehicle types.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnostics and repairs.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of current MOT testing procedures and legislation is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers.

Pay: £26,365.27-£40,769.22 per year
