Virtual School Teacher
Fixed term | 16 hours, 3 days term time | County Hall
Northumberland County Council’s Virtual School is recruiting for an enthusiastic, well motivated Secondary English or Maths teacher to support cared for children who may need additional tuition.
Northumberland Virtual School are a talented and experienced multi-disciplinary team who are passionate about ensuring disadvantaged children and young people receive an education which meets their individual needs, to improve their outcomes.
The Virtual School work effectively with schools, settings and CSC to raise educational standards, promote inclusion and wellbeing and promote educational outcomes of children and young people in our care, children with a social worker, those in kinship care and previously cared for.
The successful candidate will have experience and confidence working 1:1, in small groups in a range of settings e.g in the home, school and/or community.
The key responsibilities are:
- To teach cared for children one to one and in small groups either in schools, community venues or in their homes. Subjects will be English, mathematics and/or Science

To narrow the gap between cared for children and peers and improve educational outcomes.

Through effective liaison with schools, carers and other agencies, ensure that pupils makegood progressand enjoy positive outcomes.

To support children while waiting for a school place, or in times of reduced education

Tocontributeto the child’s Personal Education Plan (PEP)
