Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation and service, contributing to a high standard of hospitality. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry.most shifts will consist of 3 or 4 evenings and some lunch times
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas within the kitchen
- Supporting the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients for efficient workflow
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times during daily operations
- Supporting the front of house team during busy service periods to ensure timely food delivery
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of cooking techniques or restaurant experience is a plus
- Familiarity with hospitality standards and customer service is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with a proactive approach to cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards
- Reliable team player with excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality
