At Bluebird Care Mansfield & Ashfield, we’re looking for a kind, confident, and reliable Live-in Care Assistant to support customers with complex needs in their own home. Our customers may have a range of needs — from companionship and daily living support to more complex requirements such as personal care, dementia, or learning disabilities.
You’ll live in with your customer for 1 week and will be off for the next week, helping them stay independent and continue enjoying life in familiar surroundings. You’ll have your own room, WiFi access, Meal Allowance and a protected 2-hour break each day to rest and recharge.

Your Roles and Responsibilities as a Live-in Care Assistant
As a Live-in Care Assistant, you’ll provide the highest standard of care and companionship to one of our clients or a couple, supporting customers to live independently and with dignity.
Your duties include:
- Providing personal care duties,
- Experience with adults learning disabilities would be desirable (training is available)
- Moving and transferring, if required, using equipment where required,
- Domestic care duties
- Administering medication,
- Manual handling, using equipment where required,
- Promoting customer health and well-being, enabling them to live their life to the full.
- Meal preparation
- Shopping
- Social Outings
- Offering our customers companionship

You’ll typically work 1–2 weeks, followed by 1 week off, ensuring a healthy work/life balance. We’re committed to protecting your daily 2-hour break. If choosing to work 2 weeks, you may have 2 regular customers that you support on a regular basis. You will have a minimum of a 2 hour daily break which we are passionate about protecting.Our expectation is that you work a minimum of one week at a time on a regular basis.
Your Experience and Suitability for the Live-in Care Assistant Role:
- Minimum 12 months’ professional care experience (required)
- Naturally compassionate, patient, and understanding. We want a team who genuinely cares for each of our customers as if they were their own family.
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Legal right to work and live in the UK (we are not registered for sponsorship)
We carefully match carers to customers to ensure a positive and supportive relationship for both.
Because We Care About You
- Competitive rates of £770 - £840 per week
- £50 supplement on Bank Holidays (£100 on Christmas Day)
- Regular, scheduled daily breaks and a settled working pattern of 1-2 weeks working/one week off. 2 weeks on/2 weeks off can be accommodated. Your choice on how long you work within the 1-2 week range.
- Break time allocated throughout the week
- If you use your own vehicle for customer use, you will be entitled to 35p per mile

- You generally share meals with the customer (exceptions can be made by those on a special diet due to cultural or health needs). You will also have a separate room to stay and relax in and access to WiFi and usually a TV.
- You will have regular contact and support from our local office 5 days classroom-based training before you start your assignment

- We support you to gain qualifications in Health and Social Care to grow your knowledge and confidence if you so choose
- All applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK and already be resident in the UK
- Please note that we are not registered with the Sponsorship Scheme.
