Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the financial operations of the organisation by assisting with various accounting and administrative tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining efficient financial processes.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure they are properly documented and posted on the accounting system.
- Support the accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
- Respond to internal and external enquiries regarding financial matters.
- Participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Qualifications
- A qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Proficient in Xero accounting software is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is advantageous.
- Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Working Hours
Monday/Wednesday/Friday
8:30am to 5:00pm
Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
