Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Takeaway Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of our takeaway service, ensuring customers receive high-quality food and excellent service. Responsibilities
- Prepare and package takeaway orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including basic cooking and assembling dishes as required.
- Serve customers at the counter or via phone orders with professionalism and courtesy.
- Upsell additional menu items to maximise sales opportunities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the food preparation and serving areas in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely order fulfilment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate point-of-sale systems.
- Support team members in delivering excellent customer service to encourage repeat business.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing transactions confidently.
- Experience with food preparation, serving, or kitchen operations is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure orders are completed promptly.
- A friendly attitude with good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
