Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabrication Factory Operative
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Factory Operative to join our sheet metal fabrication team. The role involves manufacturing metal encasements, cutting and fitting insulation, lining fabricated products, pallet making, and assisting with general factory operations. Previous manufacturing experience is beneficial, but full training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and assemble sheet metal encasements to specification.
- Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials accurately.
- Line fabricated products with insulation or other specified materials.
- Build and repair wooden pallets for storage and transportation.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic factory machinery safely.
- Read and follow technical drawings and work instructions.
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
- Load, unload, and move materials around the factory as required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Support other production tasks as required to meet customer deadlines.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Good practical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read measurements and follow instructions.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
Working Hours:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Overtime may be available during busy periods.
