This is an opportunity to lead at the heart of one of Greater Manchester's most ambitious boroughs. We are seeking an exceptional strategic leader to join our Leadership Team as Director of Corporate Services and Section 151 Officer.
About You
You will be a professionally qualified accountant with current membership of a CCAB-recognised body and substantial senior leadership experience in local government or a similarly complex organisation. You will bring a strong track record in financial strategy, governance, transformation and organisational leadership, alongside the credibility to advise elected members and senior leaders on complex issues. Politically aware and values-led, you will provide clear, impartial advice, build strong relationships and lead high-performing teams through change and improvement.
About the Job
As Director of Corporate Services and Section 151 Officer, you will provide strategic leadership across finance, ICT and digital, workforce and organisational development, legal and governance, communications, policy, performance and corporate health and safety. Reporting to the Chief Executive and serving as a key member of the Leadership Team, you will lead the Council's financial strategy, governance, transformation and organisational resilience, ensuring services are efficient, sustainable and focused on delivering positive outcomes for residents.
