W B Griffiths & Son Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Mini Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will operate excavators up to 10 tonnes on a variety of building projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate mini excavators (under 10 tonnes) on construction sites.
- Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and groundwork operations in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks on plant equipment.
- Work alongside site managers, groundworkers, and other operatives to ensure projects are completed on programme.
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety procedures and site rules.
- Report defects, hazards, or incidents promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.
- Assist with general site duties when required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid CPCS Competent Operator Card or NPORS Operator Card for Excavator up to 10 tonnes.
- Previous experience operating mini excavators on construction sites.
- Good understanding of safe excavation practices and underground services.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality.
Desirable Qualifications
- CSCS Labourer or Skilled Worker Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Manual Handling.
- CAT & Genny training.
- Dumper and/or Roller certification.
- Experience working on commercial, education, housing, or public sector projects.
