We are looking for a maintenance person to look after a residential care home, to ensure the premises is maintained to a high standard and to provide the residents with a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment in which to live.
Key responsibilities
- To check the maintenance book each day and carry out repairs as required
- To work closely with the home manager and director to identify tasks and forward plan projects.
- To familiarise yourself with the homes emergency procedures e.g. fire, gas leak
- To maintain all items of equipment and tools in a clean, safe and secure manner
- To be aware of the condition of our residents and work accordingly i.e. not to leave tools where residents may pick them up. Many of our residents suffer from dementia
- To ensure all deficiencies in security and safety are reported to the home manager and director
- To maintain residents privacy and liaise with care workers and the home manager if required works may affect resident care
- To carry out compliance checks, such as fire safety and legionnaires as well as others ( relevant training will be provided)

Highborder Lodge is registered for 40 adults who require personal care (without nursing) and Dementia care. We pride ourselves in our very high quality of care, that support the rights of the residents.
Salary
Competitive rates of pay, depending on experience.
Hours
The position is part time, 32 hours per week and normal working hours are 8am -4pm.
Experience
Relevant building experience. Experience working in the care home environment is preferred but not essential.
