DUTY MANAGER
JOB SPECIFICATION
CurveMotion is an exciting indoor interactive venue located in Bury St Edmunds. The venue offers a variety of activities for all ages including roller skating, soft play facilities and a high-quality bistro.
The role being offered is for up to 40 hours per week, applications will be considered from candidates wishing to work part time however the ability work weekends, bank holiday and some evenings is essential.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a management or senior supervisory role, ideally in a leisure or hospitality venue. Full training will be given. You will need excellent customer service and team leading skills and be able to work well under pressure.
As a Duty Manager you will be responsible for all operational aspects of the venue whilst on shift including pre-opening and closing checks – there are not many roles that start the day with a clamber through the largest playframe in the area!
The main responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
· Operational responsibility for all aspects of the venue whilst on shift including health and safety including pre-opening and closing checks in line with Company procedures.
· Responsibility to supervise and motivate staff.
· Responsibility for the supervision of customers within the venue ensuring that all customers are behaving in a safe and appropriate manner whilst adhering to all venue rules.
· To be responsible for the accurate reconciliation of all monies collected including tills, takings, petty cash, and change, and ensuring all end of day reconciliations are completed in line with Company requirements.
· Day to day operation of the venue booking system.
· Delivering exceptional customer service whilst remaining business focussed.
· Working alongside the Operations Manager and other Duty Managers to achieve business targets in particular but not limited to, wage % targets, utility costs and kitchen GP %.
· Ensuring all Company rules, policies and procedures are followed by all users of the venue including, but not limited to, staff, customers, visitors and contractors.
· Responsibility for ensuring that all safeguarding rules and procedures are followed.
· Ensuring familiarisation with all risk assessments and adherence to action points dictated.
· Reporting to and liaising with the Operations Manager in respect of any issues.
· Undertake other duties as required in the case of sickness, staff absence or when needed during busy periods.
The person appointed to this role will be required to have the following skills:-
· Computer literate with strong experience using Microsoft Office products.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
· Be an adaptable team player.
