ICL is looking for an experienced Mechanical Operations Engineer to take responsibility for the mechanical performance and reliability of our Tees Dock operation.

You will lead a mechanical team supporting a key part of our supply chain while contributing to the success of a global business.

What you will be doing
As Mechanical Operations Engineer, you will:
- Lead and manage one of our mechanical teams, providing coaching, guidance, and technical support.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure engineering and safety standards are consistently met.
- Drive asset reliability and performance through effective maintenance strategies.
- Set high standards of professional and technical excellence within your team.
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies and engineering best practices where appropriate.
- Lead projects aimed at improving operations and reducing risks associated with mechanical equipment.
- Prepare and support capital project applications, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a mechanical engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of material transport and conveyor systems.
- Extensive experience of maintenance and reliability engineering techniques.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration
