Overview
We are seeking a MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong focus on quality and safety. Duties
- Perform MIG welding on various materials, primarily sheet metal components, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications
- Utilise TIG welding techniques as needed for specialised tasks
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with the assembly of fabricated parts, ensuring proper fit and finish
- Use basic maths skills to measure and mark materials accurately before welding or assembly
- Conduct inspections of welds and finished products to maintain quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in MIG welding within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Knowledge of TIG welding processes is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly processes and material handling
- Ability to work with sheet metal and utilise fabrication equipment effectively
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to welding projects
- Experience working with various assembly components is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided where necessary
