Warehouse Operative – Temporary Contract
Location: Witney, Oxfordshire, OX29
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with a one-hour break
We are recruiting for one Warehouse Operative to join an established specialist logistics company based in Witney on a temporary contract.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the warehouse, including receiving stock, preparing customer orders and ensuring goods are stored and handled safely.
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, wrap and label goods ready for collection or delivery
- Receive, unload and store incoming stock
- Complete quality-control checks and photograph goods where required
- Update internal systems and maintain accurate paperwork
- Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies or other issues
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
- Operate warehouse equipment safely
- Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements
- Work closely with supervisors and other warehouse colleagues
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is desirable, although training can be provided
- Comfortable using computers, scanners and other warehouse technology
- Reliable, honest and well organised
- Good communication and time-management skills
- Physically capable of lifting and moving goods safely
- An understanding of workplace health and safety
- A current forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential
- Able to commute reliably to Witney
- Eligible to work in the UK
