We are looking for reliable and hardworking Delivery Porters to join our delivery and installation team covering the Croydon area. You will work as part of a 2 man crew delivering and installing a range of bulky household items directly to customers.
Role Overview
The role involves assisting the driver with the delivery and installation of white goods, televisions, water filters and other bulky household items into customer homes. Basic installation tasks are carried out at the customer premises, therefore practical manual skills and confidence using tools are important.
Working Hours
Shift patterns may vary depending on the route and include
- 7:00am to 4:00pm
- 9:00am to 6:00pm
Each shift is 9 hours and includes a 30 minute break.
Pay
£120 per day paid on a self employed basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the driver with deliveries as part of a 2 man crew
- Carrying and moving bulky household items safely into customer homes
- Assisting with installation of products where required
- Using tools such as drills and basic hand tools
- Ensuring items are handled safely to avoid damage
- Providing professional and friendly customer service
- Helping to load and unload the vehicle at the depot
Requirements
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting heavy items as part of a team
- Practical manual skills and confidence using basic tools and drills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work on a self employed basis
Availability
The operation runs 7 days per week.
Minimum availability of 5 days per week is required.
Weekend availability will be required on a rota basis.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in delivery, removals, warehouse or installation work is beneficial
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding role
- Team player with a strong work ethic
