JOB PURPOSE:
McConnell is a Principal Contractor who delivers external refurbishment, modernisation and planned maintenance services for public and private sector property owners across the UK. We employ the industry’s best people and are currently seeking experienced Site Managers
- Reporting to: Contracts Manager
- Location: Project Dependent - Central Scotland
- Salary: Depending on experience – attractive package
- Working Hours: Full-time 8.00am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm Friday
Primary Responsibilities
- Supporting Contracts Managers in the coordination, management and delivery of projects ranging up to £6.5 million from pre-start through to completion and handover
- Projects will predominantly involve cladding renewal or remediation to various sectors including industrial, commercial and residential
- Projects delivered are compliant with Design, Specification, Quality Standards
- Ensuring full compliance with SHEQ Management Systems
- Assisting in the production the Construction Phase Plan, Risk Assessments & Method Statements, Contract Programmes
- Day to Day site management activities i.e. Inductions, Toolbox Talks, Site Inspections & Testing, Site Diary, Progress photos, Host Regular Meetings (Start Right Briefing, Progress, Safety, Client),
- Monitoring programming and reporting of progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Supervise, manage, drive, coordinate and liaise with site team (QS, Operatives, TLO)
- Supervise, manage, drive and coordinate subcontractors
- Liaison with Client and Others as appropriate
Person Specification
- Trade or academically qualified
- Experience of managing multi-disciplined trades
- Valid SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid Certificates
- Proven track record of on time, high quality project delivery
- Clear communicator (written and verbal)
- Self-motivated and organised
- Good record keeping skills
- Commercial awareness
- Driving License
- Ability to fully operate Microsoft Project for programme preparation
- Ability to competently operate MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of building legislation
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
