Position Overview
Due to newly awarded contracts and significant business expansion, Definitive Security Solutions is seeking to recruit Installation and small works Security engineers.
This role involves Installations and small installation projects, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team. The successful candidates will ensure that all physical electronic security and life safety infrastructure operates reliably, securely, and in strict compliance with industry regulations and NSI Nacoss Gold standards.
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance & Installation
- Execute preventative maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting, service remedials, and small works across commercial and enterprise environments.
- Install, configure, and service electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and intercom systems.
- Ensure a high standard of workmanship, system reliability, and customer service delivery on every task.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, cabling, software, and system integration failures.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including job sheets, test records, and commissioning reports.
Compliance & Quality Standards
- Ensure all works comply strictly with industry standards, internal quality policies, and NSI Nacoss Gold requirements.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety protocols, site RAMS, and safe working practices.
Key Systems & Preferred Disciplines
Core Disciplines:
- Fire Alarms (non essential)
- Intruder Alarms
- Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV / VMS)
- Access Control Systems
System Knowledge (Familiarity with the following platforms is beneficial):
- Access Control:
- CCTV & Intercoms: Axis, Paxton, Milestone, C-Cure, Hikvision, Videx, BPT/Came
- Intruder: Honeywell, Texecom, Pyronix, Scantronics etc
Note: In house and manufacturer training is provided where required.
Required Experience & Desirable Qualities
- Proven experience in the installation of electronic security systems
- Strong diagnostic and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret schematics, floor plans, and technical wiring diagrams.
- Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
- Demonstrable commitment to team collaboration, personal development, and high engineering standards.

Salary & Package
Salary Band: £35k to £50k + (depending on experience, excluding overtime and call-out rates)
Hours: 40 hours weekly (Monday-Friday | 8:00am -16:00pm, including paid lunch). Travel time paid at standard rate after 30 minutes each way.
Holiday Allowance: 25 Days plus Bank Holidays (and an additional day off for your birthday)
Overtime & Call-Outs: 1 in 6 call out rota carried out daily. (paid at x1.5)
Company Equipment Provided: Company vehicle (where applicable), company fuel card (where applicable), laptop, mobile device, and full power tool allocation & meters.
