Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Retail Security Officer to safeguard our premises, staff, and customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance and loss prevention measures. Duties
- Monitor the retail environment using CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including entrances, exits, and internal areas, to deter theft and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Assist with loss prevention by identifying potential theft or security breaches and taking appropriate action.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, by providing first aid if necessary.
- Enforce store policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with management regarding security concerns.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when required.
Skills
- Proven experience in surveillance or loss prevention within a retail environment is desirable.
- Proficiency in operating CCTV systems and other security equipment.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to recognise suspicious behaviour or activity.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and the ability to respond calmly during emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report incidents clearly.
- Organised and attentive to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and incident documentation.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
This position is essential for maintaining a safe shopping environment while providing excellent customer service through proactive security measures.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
