Job Summary
Dental Nurse / Treatment Coordinator
Peak Dental & Cosmetic Centre – Flitwick
Full-time | Permanent | £28,000–£36,000 per year depending on experience
About the Role
Peak Dental & Cosmetic Centre is a private dental practice in Flitwick looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Dental Nurse / Treatment Coordinator to join our team.
This is not simply a traditional chairside nursing position.
We are looking for someone who enjoys dentistry but also enjoys talking to patients, building relationships, following up enquiries and helping patients progress confidently from their initial enquiry through consultation and treatment.
The successful candidate will combine dental nursing with treatment coordination and patient journey management. For someone with the right interests, there will also be opportunities to become involved in the practice's digital and social media activities.
We are particularly interested in finding someone who wants to grow with the practice and develop beyond conventional dental nursing.
Key ResponsibilitiesDental Nursing
- Provide high-quality chairside support to dentists and clinicians
- Prepare surgeries and ensure excellent cross-infection control standards
- Assist with general, cosmetic and orthodontic treatments
- Support digital scanning, clinical photography and patient records where appropriately trained
- Maintain instruments, materials and stock
- Help ensure an organised and efficient clinical environment
Treatment Coordination & Patient Journey
- Welcome and build rapport with new and existing patients
- Follow up new patient enquiries promptly by telephone, email and messaging
- Help patients understand their treatment journey and available options
- Coordinate consultations and treatment appointments
- Follow up patients who have received treatment plans but have not yet proceeded
- Discuss fees and available payment/finance options within the appropriate role and training
- Follow up cancellations, recalls and patients with outstanding treatment
- Coordinate internal referrals between clinicians
- Maintain communication with patients throughout treatment
- Help ensure that no genuine patient enquiry or treatment opportunity is inadvertently lost through lack of follow-up
Practice Growth
When the clinical diary is quieter, the successful candidate will have an active role rather than simply waiting for the next patient.
This may include:
- Following up outstanding enquiries and treatment plans
- Patient recalls and reactivation
- Helping obtain patient feedback and reviews
- Supporting before-and-after case documentation with appropriate consent
- Assisting with suitable social media and digital content
- Monitoring the patient journey from enquiry to consultation and treatment
- Working with the practice team to improve patient experience and practice growth
Who We Are Looking For
Ideally you will be:
- A qualified, GDC-registered Dental Nurse, or an experienced trainee working towards qualification
- Friendly, confident and genuinely comfortable communicating with patients
- Proactive and able to use quieter periods productively
- Organised and reliable
- Comfortable using computers and digital communication
- Interested in private, cosmetic and orthodontic dentistry
- Interested in developing Treatment Coordinator skills
- Comfortable speaking with patients about proposed treatment, appointments and fees within your training and responsibilities
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership rather than waiting to be given the next task
Previous experience as a Treatment Coordinator, Lead Nurse, Private Dental Nurse or Patient Coordinator would be an advantage.
An interest or experience in social media or digital marketing would also be welcomed, but is not essential.
Training and support can be provided to the right candidate.
What We Offer
- £28,000–£36,000 per year, depending on experience and the level of responsibility undertaken
- Full-time, permanent position
- Opportunity to develop into a substantial Treatment Coordinator role
- Training and career development
- Experience in private, cosmetic and orthodontic dentistry
- Opportunity to contribute directly to the development of a growing private practice
- A small team where your contribution can make a genuine difference
