JOB ROLE: CARE COMPANION/CARE ASSITANT

We are a large nursing home in Ely Cardiff specialising in Dementia Care. We provide 24-hour care and support for vulnerable people living at the Forge. We require full-time staff members who are ideally experienced in caring for patients with cognitive impairment. We can offer a competitive hourly rate, a comprehensive induction package with full external and internal training. At the Forge you will be fully supported in your role by a professional and experienced team led by the very best practitioners in dementia care. Where possible we are flexible supporting alternative weekends off if required and those wishing to work more on a bank status this can be considered.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the highest standard of care and support for individuals with specific physical and mental health needs which includes all aspects of personal care.
Follow the care plan when delivering care and support.
Take direction and follow instruction given by the nurse, nursing assistant or team leader Provide residents with a sense of belonging and engagement
Ensure residents have choice and control over their day-to-day life
Attend handover on time and actively engage in care planning
Actively attend and contribute to meetings and raise any concerns about resident wellbeing
Build therapeutic friendships and relationships with resident and their families or significant others
Be professional and confidential by not divulging information not in your remit to do so Actively be part of engaging activities alongside the activity co ordinations
The Forge Care Centre offers the real living wage at £13.45 per hour
Uniform is Provided
Training and Support to Progress into Team Leader or Nurse Assistant
Regular Supervision on a 1-1 Basis
Supportive 3 Shift Rota alternating with a 4 Shift Rota
5.6 Weeks Holiday as Accrued
