WANTED! The world's most ambitious remote senior full stack developer.
Real ownership from day one, a team to build around you, and a Lead Developer seat to step into.
HOW TO APPLY
Read this first. Following these steps exactly is part of how we assess you.
- Email [email protected]
- Subject line must be exactly: "I leave the codebase better than I found it"
- CV as a PDF named: Firstname-Lastname-SeniorDev.pdf
- Answer this, in no more than 150 words: tell us about one fundamental change you owned end to end with a team or a department. What was it, how did you bring people with you, and what was different as a result?
- Answer this in a paragraph: how has AI changed what a senior developer is actually for?
- Include a link to something you have built or shipped. Code, a live product, a write-up. Anything that shows judgement, not just output.
- Complete the 16Personalities test and share the link: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
- Confirm your right to work in the UK and your current notice period.
The rest of this post is what you'd be applying to...
WANTED! The world's most ambitious remote senior full stack developer.
Who We Are
Minimal Viable Launch is the company that takes founders with extraordinary knowledge and levels them up into AI tech founders. We take a non-technical founder's expertise, the IP locked in their head, their frameworks, their methodology, and turn it into a scaleable, sellable AI-powered product that transforms their business.
We are a small remote-first team, and we are known as the Applied AI company. We read the research, translate it, and help founders understand what is actually possible right now. Every product we ship carries the client's own business brain: a context engine their whole team can talk to.
We are educators at heart. Everyone who works with us, client or team member, comes away sharper. Our culture runs on three values: being lifelong learners, making people love working with you, and radical ownership. The bar is real, and so is the support behind it.
Our mantra is: humanise the exceptional, automate the mundane.
The Role
You are the highest-quality technical mind on the projects you lead, and you raise everyone else's ceiling while you do it.
This is the technical seat at the centre of our product team, and right now it is empty. The architecture call. The security position we take into a client's meeting. The delivery plan that has to survive their technical adviser. The pattern that should have been written down after the last project, so the next one starts further ahead. All of that work happens today, spread across whoever is closest to it. We want one person to own it, raise the standard of it, and teach it to everyone else. That is the job.
This is a hands-on role, and in the world of AI that no longer means writing code from scratch. It means taking the expertise you have already built and repurposing it. You think creatively and collaboratively, you train the team, you launch a process, and you deliver in a client-facing capacity.
What You Own From Day One
- Architecture across our builds. You make the call and explain the tradeoffs on the projects you lead, and you are hands on in the architecture of everyone else's.
- Merge and quality on any project. You can block a merge on quality, security or maintainability grounds. Nothing ships that should not.
- The technical delivery plan. You author or review it, you carry the final technical say, and you defend it when a client pushes.
- Security of what we build. OWASP fundamentals, auth architecture, data handling. You spot the exposure before anyone else does.
- GitHub across the team. Repo structure, branch protection, secrets handling, a PR process people actually follow.
- Mentoring. You teach the pattern rather than just answering the question. A developer who does not level up around you is the job half done.
- Client conversations, at any stage. Sales calls where technical credibility closes the gap, workshops, delivery escalations, post-launch strategy. You translate in both directions between technical reality and business consequence.
- AI fluency in practice. We work 10/80/10: we set the strategy and context, AI does most of the execution, we come back in to take the output from good to exceptional. You already work this way.
What You Grow Into
The Lead Developer seat above this role is currently empty, and this role is the route into it.
At Lead you run the Product Department: every project, not only your own. Standards for the whole team, security across every client system, the AI stack and its budget, technical onboarding, and the playbook new developers learn from. The time you spend in the Senior seat is what builds the hands-on confidence to lead it well.
How you get there is not a mystery. Examples of what we look for:
- You defined a standard that got adopted on projects you were not leading
- You mentored someone to the point where they were promoted
- You ran a post-project review whose learnings permanently changed how the team works
- Other developers come to you unprompted for a second opinion on architecture
- You fixed a systemic problem, not just a project-level one
Those are examples rather than a checklist. What we are really looking for is impact that has become consistent.
Career reviews every 6 months. It is a decision, not a chat. Either it is consistently there and you move up, or we tell you exactly what the next six months need to look like.
How We Invest In You
Two things we run that are worth knowing about before you apply, because they are the substance behind the growth we are describing rather than a perk list.
- The North Star Vision programme. A personal 1:1 programme that maps where you want to go as a person alongside what the role needs. It is not a status meeting and it is not performance management. It is the conversation most companies never have with you.
- Org Bounties. The big, difficult problems the company has planted a flag on, open for anyone to claim. They are deliberately hard. Cracking one is the fastest way to grow here, and it is how you build the case that the Lead seat is yours.
What We Are Looking For
Non-negotiable:
- Hands-on craft. Deep proficiency across a modern full stack. React, Node, Supabase or similar, real database design, CI/CD, production ownership.
- A process-driven mindset. You see the repeatable thing and you make it repeatable, so the team never solves the same problem twice.
- Security fundamentals. Not a specialism, a habit.
- AI fluency. You already build with AI daily and you have a systematic approach you could teach, not one trapped in your head.
- Willingness to teach. This is the one we will not compromise on. If sharing what you know feels like giving something away, we are the wrong company.
You may not be an expert in all of these yet. What matters is that you can see yourself becoming one, and that you are already moving that way.
Where we will teach you:
- Data protection depth. You need to spot the exposure and know what you do not know. We will build the depth in your first six months, and we bring in a solicitor for the calls that need one.
- Commercial translation. Talking to a non-technical founder about consequence rather than implementation is a skill. If you are not there yet but you want to be, that is a development plan, not a rejection.
We do not care about your degree, your years-of-experience count, or where you learned. We care what you have built, what you left behind you, and how fast you learn.
Salary and Growth
£65,000.
Being straight with you: this is a competitive Senior salary for a fully remote UK role. What we are offering alongside it is real decision-making authority from day one, an empty Lead seat with a clear route into it, and a company that will invest hard in getting you there.
The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here
- Teacher's instinct. You explain the reasoning, not just the decision. You want the standard to outlast you.
- Radical ownership. You do not let a problem sit because it is not your ticket.
- Disruptor. You challenge how things are done and you arrive with a better alternative, not a complaint.
- Low ego, high standards. You want the feedback because you want to be better.
- Calm in front of a client. Clear, never alarmist, able to have the hard conversation about scope or timeline and leave the client feeling respected.
Our Hiring Process
- Application. Exactly as set out above.
- Paid technical exercise. Around 2 hours, recorded with your camera on, and we pay you £100 for your time whatever the outcome. Paid by UK bank transfer.
- Conversation with Zoe Makin, COO.
- Conversation with Lee Russel, CEO.
- Offer.
Be Honest With Yourself First
- This is a hands-on role. If your five-year plan is to stop writing code, this is the wrong job.
- We have no project managers and never will. You own the momentum of your work, the scope conversation, and your own client updates. Nobody routes it for you.
- Client calls are the work. If you want to be left alone with the codebase, you will be unhappy here.
- High-performance culture with real accountability. We hold each other to a high standard and we act when it is not met.
- Remote-first means self-discipline. You own your time and your output.
- AI-native working. Every role here involves AI tools daily. Resistance to changing how you work is a dealbreaker.
- Radical candour goes both ways. Direct feedback, given and received, regularly.
- We move fast and priorities shift. You will be stretched. That is deliberate.
- UK hours, UK right to work. Based anywhere in the UK, available in standard UK business hours. We do not sponsor visas.
- 6 month probation. Every level here starts on a 6 month probation, with check-ins along the way.
If you have read this far and you are still interested, that is a good sign.
