The Opportunity
This is a varied leadership role that combines:
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of high-quality Speech & Language Therapy services across partner schools.
- Coordinating and developing an established Speech & Language Therapy trainee programme.
- Supporting and supervising Newly Qualified Practitioners.
- Delivering your own clinical caseload alongside leadership responsibilities.
- Working closely with senior leaders to continually improve and develop the service.
Approximately two days each week will be dedicated to leadership, service delivery and trainee programme responsibilities, with the remainder focused on clinical practice and Practice Educator responsibilities.
No two weeks will be the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of Speech & Language Therapy services across partner schools.
- Build strong relationships with schools, colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Support, supervise and develop fellow clinicians through coaching and guidance.
- Coordinate and grow the Speech & Language Therapy trainee placement programme in partnership with universities.
- Provide structured support to Newly Qualified Practitioners throughout their first year.
- Monitor service quality, outcomes and performance.
- Contribute to service development, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Deliver a varied paediatric clinical caseload within education settings.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist who has:
- HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
- Strong post-qualification clinical experience.
- Experience working with children in educational settings.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Confidence supporting and developing other clinicians.
- A passion for delivering high-quality services and helping others succeed.
Experience supervising trainees, holding a Practice Educator qualification, managing services or working with EHCP caseloads would be advantageous but is not essential.
