An opportunity for a dedicated Team Leader to support the Store Manager has become available at our Co-Op Franchise site in Didcot. We are recruiting a fun outgoing individual who has the ability to work with varied team and assist in the day to day running of this new Co-Op store. A proven track record in retail is a must.
Responsibilities include
- Supervise daily store activities, including sales management, stock control, and customer service excellence
- Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional service
- Oversee employee orientation, training & development to enhance team skills and performance
- Manage scheduling, shift management, and payroll processing to ensure smooth operations
- Conduct interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding of new staff to build a strong team foundation
- Maintain inventory management and control, including merchandising, stocking, and pricing strategies
- Handle cash handling, cashiering, POS operations, and cash register reconciliation with accuracy
- Implement marketing initiatives to boost store visibility and sales growth
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and store policies
- Foster effective communication within the team and with customers to enhance overall satisfaction
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in retail or grocery stores
- Strong management skills with experience in team supervision and leadership roles
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and engage customers effectively
- Knowledge of retail math, inventory control, merchandising, and POS system
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently across shift management tasks while maintaining high standards of customer service
