Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring all cargo is secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen issues.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or commercial driving experience.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles such as lorries or flatbeds.
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo safely.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Good communication skills to interact courteously with clients and team members.
- A responsible attitude towards safety, punctuality, and customer service standards.
