Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, work surfaces, and dining areas to uphold high standards of hygiene.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under supervision.
- Support the kitchen team by ensuring all areas are stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients are stored correctly.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to maintain a tidy workspace.
- Help with dishwashing duties, including loading and unloading dishwashers and hand-washing items as needed.
- Maintain safety protocols by adhering to health regulations and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
- Support serving staff during busy periods by clearing tables and assisting with general hospitality tasks.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hotel environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene standards.
- Previous hospitality experience demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and serving practices is a plus.
- Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and support the culinary team.
- Reliable with good physical stamina for standing, lifting, and moving throughout shifts.
