Overview
You will support our manufacturer-approved accident repair centres in Dorking and Redhill, travelling between both sites to meet business demands and maintain efficient workshop operations.
The Strip & Fit/Mechanical Department is responsible for the safe and efficient removal and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim components required to complete accident repairs. You will carry out repairs to the highest manufacturer standards while supporting both workshops to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently, and right first time.
This role requires flexibility, excellent communication, and the ability to work seamlessly with different teams while maintaining the high standards expected across Finesse.
Responsibilities
- Stripping vehicles for repair
- Stripping vehicles as per job card
- Checking new parts list whilst stripping
- Reading methods when unsure of correct procedure
- Reporting extra parts needed
- Complete quality check sheet at each stage
- Air-con re-gas (trained persons only)
- Geometry (trained persons only)
- Light alignment
- Fitting vehicles after repair
- Checking locks, lights, electrics as per quality check sheet
- Report to if warning lights on
- Cleaning up work/storage area, and making sure that plant and equipment is working correctly, any faults found, immediately inform management of findings
- Liaising with other departments
- Report any problems
- Assist in other areas of the business as required
- Sign QC sheet
- Travel between the Dorking and Redhill sites to provide additional workshop support where required.
Experience
- Previous experience as an MET Technician, Strip & Fit Technician, or Vehicle Technician within a bodyshop or accident repair environment.
- Good understanding of modern vehicle mechanical, electrical, and trim systems.
- Ability to interpret job cards and manufacturer repair methods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: £51,000.00-£53,000.00 per year
