Overview
We are seeking an energetic and responsible Nursery Lunch Cover to join our friendly team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support our children during lunchtime, ensuring they enjoy a nutritious meal in a caring setting. The role is perfect for individuals with childcare experience who are enthusiastic about working with young children and contributing to their well-being.
Main Duties:
- Supervise children during lunchtime, encouraging good manners and social interaction
- Assist with serving meals and snacks in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe and clean dining environment, ensuring all areas are hygienic and organized
- Support children in developing independence during mealtime routines
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents as needed
- Follow all nursery policies regarding child safety and food handling procedures
- Assist with general classroom tidying after lunch periods to prepare for the next activity
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings, particularly within nurseries or early childhood environments
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact positively with young children and team members
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development best practices
- Management and leadership skills are desirable for supporting children's needs effectively
- Ability to work independently while following nursery routines and policies
- Valid driving license is a plus for flexibility in covering different nursery locations if required
- A caring attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children are essential
