PUB DESCRIPTION
The Town Crier, Coventry, presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pub Partner to lead a thriving city centre pub that is set to receive significant investment and be transformed into one of Marston's flagship Grandstand venues. We're looking for a customer-focused operator with strong experience in sports-led hospitality, kitchen management and local marketing, who can create compelling reasons for customers to visit throughout the week. With live sport, pub games, quality food and regular entertainment forming key parts of the offer, you'll have the opportunity to build on an established customer base while ensuring The Town Crier stands out in a highly competitive city centre market.
Situated in Coventry city centre, The Town Crier is a characterful pub with a covered outdoor trading area, an established reputation for great service and a diverse mix of customers, from local regulars and daytime visitors to weekend entertainment seekers. Following the planned Grandstand investment, sports viewing will become a major attraction alongside a popular food offer transitioning onto the Marston's menu. With expected wet sales of £15,000 per week and an 80:20 wet-to-dry split, this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious operator who can lead a strong team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, drive entertainment and events, and establish The Town Crier as Coventry's go-to destination for sport, food and community occasions.
We’re looking for an experienced, sports-driven Pub Partner who thrives in high-energy, wet-led environments and knows how to create standout guest experiences week in, week out. Previous food experience is essential, with experience operating branded food offers a strong advantage. You’ll be commercially focused, confident leading large teams, and passionate about using sport, atmosphere and great hospitality to drive results and make your pub the place everyone wants to be.
What’s in it for you?
- 22% share of weekly sales (excluding VAT) plus a guaranteed annual retained sum of £25K (released weekly)
- Low ingoing costs, deposits starting from £5,000 and £360 legal cost. (*deposits can vary dependant on business – ask us for more details*)
- Accommodation included with most bills covered, except the council tax & TV License (*a fee may be payable for some services such as garden maintenance)
As part of our application process, we may use Lily, an AI-powered interviewing assistant to support the early stages of screening. Lily helps us move quickly, keep things flexible for you, and create a more consistent candidate experience, but one thing you should know – all hiring decisions are still made by our people.
