Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
- Supporting the safe storage of ingredients and supplies
- Maintaining organisation of the kitchen area to meet health and safety standards
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Supporting front-of-house staff with serving duties when required
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
Skills
- Basic food preparation and cooking skills are desirable but not essential
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous
- Good organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to food service environments
