The Racing Bug designs, builds and operates unique competitive racing attractions and arcade experiences for venues throughout the UK and internationally. We are seeking a practical and enthusiastic Mechanical Workshop Technician to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble and maintain Raceway attractions, arcade equipment and amusement devices.
- Carry out MIG welding and light fabrication work using steel box section, sheet and tube.
- Repair and restore retro arcade machines, and electro-mechanical amusement equipment.
- Assemble mechanical systems including steering mechanisms, pedal assemblies, bearings, wheels, chassis and suspension components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and wear issues.
- Perform basic electrical work including wiring, crimping, fitting connectors and replacing switches, relays and motors.
- Assist with installations, venue fit-outs and occasional event support work within the UK and overseas.
- Maintain workshop tools, machinery and stock.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, vehicle restoration, karting, agricultural machinery, amusement equipment or similar engineering environments.
- Competent MIG welding skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work accurately from measurements.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Basic electrical fault-finding skills would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence required

HOURS/DAYS:
