Job Title: Decarbonisation Supervisor
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + company van

Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Decarbonisation Supervisor to lead our site operations. In this role, you will be the bridge between management and the field, ensuring that our decarbonisation projects—including Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installations—are delivered to the highest standards. You will manage our engineering teams, ensure safety and quality on-site, and occasionally provide direct technical assistance to support the team’s output.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Leadership & Management: Take full responsibility for the daily operations of site-based teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with MCS standards and building regulations.
- Team Oversight: Lead and supervise teams of engineers, assigning daily tasks and monitoring productivity to ensure high-quality workmanship across all installations.
- Hands-on Support: Act as a working supervisor; while your primary focus is management, you will occasionally assist with on-site installations, troubleshooting, and complex technical tasks to keep projects moving.
- Mentoring & Training: Develop our junior talent through active mentoring. You will provide on-the-job training, identify skill gaps, and ensure all engineers are confident in delivering the "Phoenix Standard."
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a culture of safety. This includes conducting regular Tool Box Talks (TBTs), ensuring all RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) are strictly followed, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- Operational Workflow: Manage the "back-to-work" processes for engineers returning from leave or absence, ensuring they are fully briefed on current projects, safety updates, and technical requirements before heading to site.
- Communication: Act as the key point of contact for engineers on-site, escalating issues to the Project Manager when necessary and ensuring clear communication flow between the field and the office.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Safety Compliance: Achieve 100% attendance and completion rates for weekly Tool Box Talks and ensure zero major non-conformances in on-site health and safety audits.
- Workmanship Quality: Maintain a "First-Time Fix" rate of 90%+ and ensure that snagging lists are completed and cleared within 48 hours of project inspection.
- Schedule Adherence: Ensure 95% of daily installation targets are met, with minimal slippage on critical path project milestones.
- Team Development & Retention: Conduct consistent mentorship sessions with junior engineers/apprentices, tracking individual development and ensuring 100% completion of the "back-to-work" briefing process for all returning staff.
- Documentation Accuracy: Ensure all site-based compliance paperwork, including commissioning certificates and funding-required evidence, is completed accurately and submitted daily.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or team-lead role within the heating, renewable energy, or construction industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Solar PV and ASHP technologies and installation best practices.
- Mentorship: A passion for coaching and developing staff; ability to communicate complex technical instructions clearly to apprentices and junior engineers.
- Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with site safety regulations and industry compliance standards (e.g., PAS 2030/2035).
- Reliability: Ability to manage time effectively, oversee site logistics, and problem-solve on the fly.
- Certifications: Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade) and a valid driver's license are essential.
